Understanding Our Product Sizing
To help you in accurately understanding our product sizing, we use both the Metric and Imperial measurement system.
- Metric is in millimetres (mm)
- Imperial is in gauges (ga) and inches (")
Get the right fit
Have a look at our detailed jewellery measurement chart to help you get the perfect fit.
Our piercing jewellery is measured by the thickness first, followed by internal diameter/width/linear length and ending with the ball/attachment size.
- (A) - Piercing Rings are measured by the thickness, internal diameter and ball size (if any).
- (B) - Septum, Daith & Rook Clickers are measured by their thickness and the internal height and sometimes width.
- (C) - Straight and curved barbells are measured by the linear width between ball to ball.
- (1) - Wire size refers to the thickness of the jewellery. This is indicated in mm or ga (please refer to red markings). For example: 1.2mm (16ga).
- (2) - Length/width size is indicated only in mm (please refer to green markings).
- (3) - Ball or other attachments are indicated only in mm (please refer to blue markings).
Internally Threaded
Internally threaded refers to the thread of the jewellery being placed on the attachment and not on the actual post/wire. This allows for a smooth surface on the jewellery being inserted into the piercing.
Have a look at our internally threaded chart below to see our jewellery specifications.
Post/Wire (Thickness) | Internal Thread |
1.2mm | 0.8mm |
1.6mm | 1.2mm |
Externally Threaded
Externally threaded refers to the thread of the jewellery being placed in the attachment or on the post/wire. This means the post/wire will have a visible thread on the end and the attachment will have a hole for a post/wire to thread into. Have a look at our externally threaded chart below to see our jewellery specifications.
Post/Wire (Thickness) | External Thread |
1.2mm | 1.2mm |
1.6mm | 1.6mm |
